            <title>the social networking craze - a biblical concept.</title>

            <description>    &lt;p&gt;So, let&amp;#39;s not be in denial.&amp;#160; Culture has changed, and is still changing.&amp;#160; And as a result, means of communication has also changed.&amp;#160; No longer to people drop by your house to talk.&amp;#160; And people really don&amp;#39;t even call anymore.&amp;#160; They text.&amp;#160; And if you don&amp;#39;t have a myspace, facebook, twitter, or blog account - you are out of the loop.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I don&amp;#39;t prefer the newest type of social networking.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;m more of a face-to-face kinda guy.&amp;#160; I like to be in the same room as the person i&amp;#39;m talking to.&amp;#160;&amp;#160; But I&amp;#39;m adapting - whether I want to or not.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;And while I&amp;#39;m thinking of it - I really don&amp;#39;t like facebook.&amp;#160; I know I&amp;#39;ve only had the account for just a shade under two weeks, but it just seems lame.&amp;#160; I enjoy myspace.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Anyway - back to my &amp;#39;real&amp;#39; thoughts.&amp;#160; As I was thinking about the term &amp;quot;social networking&amp;quot;, something hit me.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;In Acts 2:44-47, (NIV) it says&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class=&quot;sup&quot; id=&quot;en-NIV-26983&quot;&gt;44&lt;/span&gt;All the believers were together and had everything in common. &lt;span class=&quot;sup&quot; id=&quot;en-NIV-26984&quot;&gt;45&lt;/span&gt;Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. &lt;span class=&quot;sup&quot; id=&quot;en-NIV-26985&quot;&gt;46&lt;/span&gt;Every
day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke
bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, &lt;span class=&quot;sup&quot; id=&quot;en-NIV-26986&quot;&gt;47&lt;/span&gt;praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Do you see the similarities?&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I do.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;And while messaging on myspace isn&amp;#39;t exactly &amp;quot;being together&amp;quot; in the traditional sense - it really is today.&amp;#160; And if this &amp;quot;social networking craze&amp;quot; will get people closer together - I think it&amp;#39;s a pretty good idea to use it to our (christians) advantage.&amp;#160; &lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;m not recommending e-bible studies (but has anyone tried that?), but I think that one of the biggest things the church today is missing is camaraderie.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;I&amp;#39;m not suggesting I have the answer - I&amp;#39;m merely asking the question.&amp;#160; What do we do - if anything - with this?  &lt;br /&gt; &lt;/p&gt;    &lt;p style=&quot;clear:both;&quot;&gt;
